Our History — Selected Eras

Founding Years

Established in Marshall, TX in 1881, Bishop College prioritized teacher training, ministry preparation, and classical studies as routes to leadership and civic participation.

Dallas Era

The 1961 relocation to South Dallas brought growth and deeper neighborhood engagement — the Highland Hills campus became a cultural anchor for the community.

Challenges & Closure

Despite achievements, the college faced accreditation and financial pressures in the 1980s that ultimately led to closure in 1988; the legacy continued through alumni achievements.
